Feeding Ducks and First Hair Cuts

Eric's sister, Amy, had us over for dinner last Sunday. She's single and lives in Eric's parent's BYU condo just south of campus. All her roommates are gone for the summer, so it was the perfect time for us to come over since we wouldn't be bugging anyone else that lives there. After we ate I thought it would be fun to walk over to the duck pond at BYU and feed the ducks. I forgot that they are the most overfed ducks in Utah because every time I go, there are lots of other people doing the same thing, especially on Sundays. The ducks weren't very interested in the bread, but Megan still had a great time, until it started to rain and we had to leave before she wanted to.

Megan has had a bit of a mullet for about the 6 or 7 months. This is why her hair is usually up in pig tails. I have resisted cutting her hair because it's already so thin and wispy, but it was time to get rid of the mullet and the little rat tail. Luckily, my friend, Lindy, does hair at her house. It's a total life savor for me when I get mine cut because Megan LOVES to play with her kids. Megan did really well and held pretty still (with the help of a sucker) and I think it was because she was familiar with where we were and it wasn't a "big" production. Of course I had to take a few pic's of my baby's first hair cut!

Our "Summer" Vacation

Wow, has it really been almost a month since I've posted?! Time goes by too fast! Since I'm due July 1 and we won't really be able to go anywhere this summer, we decided to take our vacation a little early to Eric's parent's house in Seal Beach, CA. The weather wasn't quite as warm as I would have liked, but we managed to still have a great time. We love going to Grandma and Grandpa's! They have everything we need at the house, which really cuts down on the amount of "stuff" we have to bring. Plus I get to see my sister whenever we are down there, which is another bonus.

One of the things that we HAD to do was go to the beach. Megan had been talking about going to the beach and making sand castles for weeks, so even though it was a little cloudy and not as warm as we were hoping for, we still went. Megan LOVED it and didn't want to get out of the water. She was also very fascinated with the sand and really liked squishing it through her fingers and toes.

It was fun just hanging out at Grandma's and Grandpa's, playing with all the toys they have there. Megan really liked the mini trampoline. I think I might have Eric finally convinced that we should get one. It was also our 6th year anniversary while we were there. We went out to eat at The Fish Company with Eric's parents. It was some of the best fish I've ever had. Eric's sister, Diana was in town and she watched Megan for us so we could eat in peace.

I wanted to take some pictures down by the beach, so my sister come over and Sunday and we went down to Seal Beach and took a few pictures. It was a little windy, but still fun. I've been having a lot of fun editing these with all my new photoshop actions. There are endless possibilities...

On our last day in California we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. It was a little crowded with all the schools that were there, but still fun. They had two big pools where you could touch stingrays and sharks. Megan was having a good time touching them until a ray came up onto the side where she had her hand in the water and started splashing around. She got really freaked out and wouldn't put her hand in the water the rest of the day. That didn't stop Eric though. He could have stayed there for hours. We then met Eric's dad for lunch at In-N-Out. Megan is in love with Grandpa. She follows him around the house and just can't get enough of him. It's really sweet. We had a great time in California and wished we would have been able to stay longer. I'm already looking forward to going back in February!
